Mother's Day Fun!

This Mother's Day weekend my parents drove up from Louisiana to see their grandson, Landon, be dedicated to the church. My brother, sister in law and nephew live about 40 minutes from us. It's so nice to have them close. I wish I lived close to BOTH of my brothers, but I'll take one rather than none.

Landon's dedication went well. He behaved so well! :) I snapped a few pics from the front row so that they would have a memory of this special event. Here they are with the pastors of their church. He is one lucky baby to have Craig and Nicole as parents! :)
Afterwards we went to eat at BRAVO Restaurant and it was so yummy! We gave our mom gifts, ate a great lunch & laughed at Landon, who is now ALWAYS our dinnertime entertainment!
Nicole had the great idea of doing a girls getaway weekend in Dallas. So she put together little gift baskets for my mom and her mom. I'm looking forward to getting away with our moms for a little shopping, eating and laughing! :)
Speaking of laughing, Landon's new "trick" that he has learned is to force himself to laugh. It's sooo cute! He will be sitting still and quiet then all of the sudden just BURST out in complete laughter that is so loud and soooo hilarious!! He knows he can get a reaction out of us, so when we laugh it makes him laugh more. I was able to snap a picture of it. He tightens up his fists too. I'll have to catch it on video soon so you can hear it! :)
Here is Nicole and her mom with Landon.

then Craig hopped in the picture. This is mom with 2 out of 3 of her kiddos. We will all be together for Father's Day! So looking forward to it!
And last but not least, my brother's family on Nicole's first Mother's Day. My OTHER sister in law is also celebrating her FIRST Mother's Day this weekend too but they are in Louisiana. I will be headed that way this week to take their first official family pictures with Makaylan.
Sunday morning, B and I woke up early to drive to Rison to go to church with HIS parents. It is always such a pleasure to go to his home town and spend time with his family. Since the only thing we did with their family was go to church, unfortunately I didn't take any pictures. But we still had a great time with then... only wish we could have stayed longer but alas, B had to get back to work...

We are both blessed with wonderful Christian moms who raised us in solid Christian homes. I'm thankful to my mom for always being there for me, always loving me and for letting me be who I am....which most of the time is a little different than what she had imagined. ;) I am thankful for my mother in law who raised a man who is now my husband. I must say, she did a great job!

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend!

Our week in iPhone pics

B is holding our little friend Max. This is one of the few times Buie has ever held a child so it was definitely worthy of snapshot. He did a great job, by the way.
Here's B with the emergency radio listening to the weather report as the five of us (me, B, Scooter, Conner & Hazel) sat in the bathroom waiting for the storm to pass.
Also, as we were watching the weather (before the TV went out) they mentioned a "Buie, AR." We had NO IDEA there was a Buie, Arkansas. :) And it's not too far away from us so we are most definitely going to visit it sometime soon. Mom came over Thursday and helped me around the house. She helped me get our table all ready for Easter. Friday evening our family came over to enjoy a yummy Easter dinner.
I picked up some GORGEOUS tulips at Kroger and I couldn't help but snap a picture. Aren't they gorgeous!?
This morning I opened up the back door and found that this guy had brought us an Easter surprise.
Yes, my friends, that would be a mole. Gross me out.
And that about does it- our week straight from my iPhone! Happy Easter!

Welcome Spring!

It's beginning to look more like Springtime around the Buie house. This week I pulled out the Easter decorations from the attic. I love decorating for Spring and Easter, mainly because I love eggs and birds. Spring is a perfect time to display both!

Speaking of birds...B & I were working in our yard and he called me over to look at this! It was a perfectly put together bird's nest! I still get so fascinated by bird's nest... how they gather random things from the ground and put them together to form something so unique. It is definitely a God-given talent that these little birdies have. There weren't any eggs in this nest so I carefully took it down out of the bush to admire it up close.
I might even use it as decoration in our house this Spring. I found this picture here of a fun way to use a real bird's nest in your home.

I also decorate with lots of eggs. Most of my ceramic eggs were my great grandmothers who hand painted them for family members. I cherish these eggs as they are one of the main things I remember "NaNa" for.

My mom bought me this new little addition in Dallas last month. It is one of my favorite things too. This little bunny bootie just makes me smile when I look at him every morning. He sits in a pot of ivy on our breakfast table.
My egg wreath I picked up at Pier One a few years ago when I worked there sits on our dining room table...along with the best Spring decor, my kitty Hazel. She seems to find herself wherever I am taking pictures at the time. ;)
When we cleaned out my grandmother's home a few years ago, we found several cartons of unfinished ceramic eggs. These were painted a base color only, but to me, they are still just as pretty! I have several vases of these ceramic eggs around our home and love looking at them! Their fresh pastel colors are so Springy! My favorite thing about March and early April is definitely tulips!
I found these aerial shots of the Netherlands. Can you believe that those fields are all tulips? Wow! I would LOVE to go there one day during tulip season!

I hope you are enjoying these early days of Spring!
