Celebrity Morph by MyHeritage

MyHeritage: Celebrity Morph - Geneology

HE REALLY IS CHANDLER!! :)

Read my previous post and you'll understand why this is so funny! Sorry the pictures are not great quality.

Cleaning Day

Well, not only have the Buies been working hard on our home, but we also established that Brent and I, are, in fact, Monica and Chandler. (although I will add that I am not NEAR as "anal" as Monica is.)

We got back from church, ate a bite to eat and started cleaning. The whole time Buie is cracking jokes, singing and dancing. Yes, he was dancing. I know it's hard to imagine. His mindset was to have fun with this so called "cleaning day." My mindset on the other hand was ... don't mess around. We only have so much time to get this all done.

You see with our different schedules it is very rare that Buie and I have an afternoon or evening off together. And if we do it's NEVER on the weekend together. He is always working on the weekend. So I wanted to seize this opportunity of togetherness and get it all done together. Needless to say, I was NOT singing and dancing. ha!

I think the moment it hit me that I was, in fact, Monica, was when I started to vacuum my vacuum cleaner. If you are a FRIENDS fan you know exactly what episode I am talking about. Monica finishes vacuuming, takes out a smaller hand held vacuum and vacuums her big vacuum with her smaller one.

In my case though I actually used the hose attachment. (much more efficient, I think.)

We laughed about it, and when we were finished cleaning we sat down and watched a few episodes of FRIENDS. When it's all said and done, next time I think I'll be a little more like Chandler and a little less like Monica on cleaning day.

If you'll recall what our place used to look like...

Here's what it looks like after many many hours of cleaning yesterday.

the decline of exciting birthdays

My first married birthday has come and gone. Birthdays have always been a big deal to me so I was excited about this one because I turned 25. However, to no surprise, it really wasn't a big deal. I think with all the hype of the wedding, my birthday just kind of came and went... which is okay. I think it was time I set aside my childhood fantasies of having "the perfect birthday" every year. You know those butterflies you get in your stomach when you know your birthday is almost here... Well, most people probably quit having those at like age 16. That's like your last important "childhood" birthday...and then there's 21. That one was exciting, I guess, because you're now officially an "adult" (whatever that means). So I guess there was all this excitement about turning 25 because I figured it was like a big milestone or something, but nothing happened spectacular. No fireworks went off. I wasn't able to do or to purchase anything more than I was at age 24.

I guess I just realized that at this point, it's just years. Another year every year. And what's exciting about 26...can't think of a thing.

I know this post might sound depressing but in all actuality, I think it just means that I'm growing up. After all, I'm married to a man who is turning 31 this year. hehe.

And on the bright side, I got GUITAR hero for my birthday! How cool is that? My husband is the best! He definitely doesn't give boring gifts! We've had fun playing with it this past week. Well, I will say that he has had waaay more fun than me. I'm not very good at it. (to no surprise at all). I need to work on that coordination thing.

Also, my parents, Buie's parents, Craig, Nicole and Sharon (Nicole's mom) all went out to eat with Buie and I for my birthday at Cajuns. We had fun hanging out together and of course, the food was awesome! So it was a great 25th birthday afterall! I can't say that I'll expect the same next year though. Afterall, what's exciting about 26, right? Maybe I'll just look forward to my 30th. :)

Married Life

So far so good. We've been married a little over 2 weeks and my only complaint is that I don't get to see him enough. Buie works as a manager at a large chain book store in Little Rock and his hours don't allow a lot of flexibility. Sometimes he works the closing shift 4 pm until midnight. I work everyday from 8 am until 5 pm which means on days that he closes, I don't get to see him except for when I crawl out of bed at 6 am and when HE crawls into bed at 1 am. Therefore, my only complaint of marriage so far is that due to crazy schedules and our hectic lives we don't see each other enough. Cancun spoiled us. For a week, we were literally together 24/7 for 7 days. It was nice.

Now for the fun part. I have to figure out how to get my name changed in the state of Arkansas. Any ideas of where to start?

To do:
change my name
get a new Social Security card with my new name
get a new license with my new name
put my new name on our joint account
change my direct deposit paycheck into our joint account

Who knew marriage was so much trouble? ;)

FINALLY get a new license plate on my car that says ARKANSAS instead of LOUISIANA.
get a new LSU decal so that people are not confused as to where my loyalty lies.

These last two don't have anything to do with marriage but I've been living in Arkansas for over three years now (7 years if you count college) and I still have LOUISIANA plates. It's hard to say goodbye to a great state... but Arkansas is officially home now.

It's WEDDING WEEK!

AAAHH! It's wedding week!

This is me and my daddy. Can you tell we're excited?!

I drove down to Minden today. It's "wedding week" is the phrase of the day apparently. If I've heard that once I've heard that a million times. And yes, I DO, in fact, realize that this is the week of my wedding so I don't need to be reminded, but thank you to all who have! :) I feel like I should have a sign on my back that says, "I'm getting married this Saturday and YES I'm excited so there's no need to ask." haha. That would save me a lot of breath this week.

But besides all the talk, I really am excited. I'm looking forward to seeing friends and family and all at the same place. I'm excited for the memories that will be made and for the reminiscing that is bound to be done. I'm looking forward to seeing all of our (and by "our" I am mainly refering to my mom's) hard work pay off.

I drove out to Grandad's house today where the reception will be and both tents are already up. It looks great! I can't wait to see it full of flowers, food, and people!!!

4 more days...

Oh and my brother Chris is pretty excited too! He and dad have been "strategizing" about valet parking and where to park all the cars for the reception. Dad has each parking lot color coded. They are incredible.

I took a picture with my mom, too, but she would kill me if I posted it. She's really really tired from all of her hard work and it showed in the pic. Also, apparently she has developed allergies to my baby, Conner.

Poor Conner...
