I just realized that the people who normally would check this, my mother in law, Julee Bell, Jessie Doose, Hitney Wall and maybe one other bored individual out there, have not seen the FULL tour. (Granted my mother in law has already BEEN in the house, so she won't need this tour...) But for the rest of you peeps, here it is...
I hope this works. Click here to see some sweet pics of our first home!
Enjoy!
PS. The furniture in these pictures belongs to previous owners. I'll post more when we have it decorated to my liking. :)

One down... many to go.
Ok. I must say this. I am DONE with painting for now. I finished up our laundry room with minimal mistakes and I've decided that the purple bathroom and the butter yellow guest room can wait for now. My arms and back ache so much from painting that I need a rest in between rooms.
Here the first and only room I've painted: the Laundry Room.

Moving Week.
Moving is in full swing! While I am finishing up some things here in the office, my huband, his college roommate and my in-laws are moving furniture to our new home! When I get home from work, there will be furniture in our house, which is more than I could say yesterday. This weekend will be full of paint, boxes, sore muscles and a group of very tired movers! I hope to have the majority of our things moved by Sunday.
Painting is priority on my list this weekend, specifically the laundry room. Our washer and dryer are being delivered on Sunday, which means my laundry room must be painted by then. I am almost finished priming the room. I couldn't wait to see what the color would look like so I painted a section of the wall where the primer was already dry and I LOVE the color. I went with the color "drizzle" by Sherwin Williams. The are having a sale on their top of the line eco friendly paint so we stocked up!
This is the inspiration for our laundry room. My reasoning is- if I have to spend time doing chores, I might as well be in a room that is cute! I will post pictures of the process and of course of the finished room!

Catastrophe Strikes Once More
This weekend was suppossed to be filling with packing as this is our last weekend living in our condo, but instead "Captain Disaster" decided to pay us a little visit.
It all started with a little puddle... We have three animals so little puddles are not uncommon in our household but it's nothing that a little RESOLVE carpet cleaner can't fix. Well, this was NOT one of those RESOLVES moments. What looked like a little puddle quickly turned into a huge masive river flowing through our dining room. (I might be exaggerating a little.) Nonetheless, this was a job for Roto Rooters! After sawing a hole through our wall under our sink to find the leak, RR found the leak and fixed it in a few hours time and a few hundred dollars later. What a way to spend your Saturday night huh.
Sunday morning we woke up to take the next step: water mitigation. Fancy word, I know. Two days ago I had never heard that word, but in the last 24 hours I have become very familiar with water mitigation, insurance claims, and dehumidifiers. ServPro came and accessed the damaged, ripped up our carpet, removed the wet pad underneath, and left us with several heavy duty fans to dry up the walls and carpet.
So on our last weekend in the condo, this is what we did. Fate has a funny way of turning things around and slapping you in the face, doesn't it. But I am just thankful it wasn't any worse than it was... and it looks like we will be able to salvage the carpet!
On a happier note, we get the keys to our house tonight! I can't wait to walk through the house for the first time since we closed and know that it is all ours!!! :)
Here are pics from the weekend from unheaven...

We bought a house!
Woo hoo! We are excited to announce that we are now officially home owners! We closed on the house yesterday (Tax Day) at 1 pm. The closing only took about 30 or 40 minutes to sign all the papers, then we grabbed a quick bite to eat to celebrate. We will receive the keys to our new house on either Sunday or Monday. The former owners needed a little more time to get all of their belongings out of the house, which was fine with us since we still have SO much packing to do!
We had a PODS storage unit delivered last week and it's sitting in our condo parking lot, just waiting to be filled. Buie has done most of the muscle work in this department. Last night we tried to move our couch out the the PODS with no luck. It was waaay tooo heavy for me. I was able to move it about a foot or two before I started yelling, "Put it down! Put it down!" Thank goodness I didn't drop it on my big toe. So we decided it would be better to wait on a boy to help Buie. Boys are better at moving the heavy thing anyway. :) I'll stick to bubble wrapping all the dishes. That's my specialty.
Our PODS storage unit
the inside of the PODS unit. We have a LONG ways to go!
We filed our taxes yesterday too! Our first time to file as a married couple.
It's not as exciting as it sounds... :)
This is my Easter basket Buie surprised me with on Sunday afternoon. Super cute!
